Welcome.

I’m an Episcopal Church parish priest, an artist, and a writer.

My deep joy is walking with people through their spiritual journeys—preaching and teaching theology and scriptures as tools of transformation—and collaborating toward a resurrection world through beauty, contemplation, and action.

Writing.

Much of my writing these days comes in the form of sermons; working with ancient sacred narratives, exploring how we might understand their original power in context, and then find application today.

I’ve also written a book critically examining the supposed anti-LGBTQ+ verses in the Bible, essays on various theological and biblical themes, and many of my projects involve writing in some way.

Art.

My early training in painting and illustration has become part of my vocational work as well as a hobby. I paint, draw, create books, make prints, and more.

I have begun partnering with my artistic wife in creating visual expressions of theology, scripture, and church themes. You can see some of our collaborative icon work here.

Projects.

Overlapping in writing, design, and art, my projects are longer-term or bigger-picture endeavors.

The curriculums I create for Spiritual Formation offerings are my most active work, coming out of my vocation as a parish priest. They form the basis of active discussions and give resources to continue growth and learning in faith.
